As far as textiles are concerned, the CTTÉI has particularly distinguished itself as the initiator of the MUTREC collective. MUTREC is a group of experts from complementary disciplines combining their know-how and creativity to address in an innovative way the issues associated with the valorization of Quebec's residual textiles. After three years of work in open innovation, the CTTÉI and its partners published a report in 2020 presenting an inventory, potential opportunities and recommendations with a view to increasing the circularity of the textile sector in Quebec.
The CTTÉI also carried out a feasibility study on post-consumer textile recycling in 2021 for Fashion Takes Action. The report can be consulted free of charge online.
